What is the role?
Join our team as an ETL & Data Migration Agent, where you'll ensure the smooth onboarding of new customers migrating from different sources including competing Practice Management Software (PMS) and custom built systems. Your role involves collaborative management of daily data imports using our existing processes (Excel and SQL based), as well as supporting our transition of these processes to AWS Glue.
Your strong communication skills and customer-centric approach will be essential as you engage with customers to ensure their data is migrated as needed. In our team, teamwork is paramount, with shared responsibilities among members.
This role requires team collaboration with the Power Diary team in Eastern Australia.
What will you do?
On a day-to-day basis, your responsibilities and activities will include:
1. AWS Glue Specific Responsibilities
Transition existing in-house ETL processes to AWS Glue.
Create, implement and maintain ETL workflows for new source systems
Create user-friendly workflows to support other team members to efficiently utilise the AWS ETL processes.
Create and maintain internal user documentation
Help team members understand and manage the ETL processes including to fix issues and make on-the-spot adjustments as required.
Continuous Improvement: work with the team to perform QA on these processes and remedy / improve where apt
2. Customer Data Migration
Attend to client migrations and enquiries, including queue management, customer collaboration for migration requirements, expectation management, and resolution of data anomalies.
Cleanse,, transform, and import customers' data into their new Power Diary account,using AWS Glue, our existing ETL processes or manually with Excel. Analyse incoming data import requests and provide proactive advice and guidance to customers
Provide troubleshooting and support to Customers for post-import enquiries and issues
Contribute to data migration process development, define new source system requirements, and establish best practices for efficient data migration.
Collaboration with the team on daily tasks, challenges, and projects
Weekend work on a rostered basis where required based on customer need
Who are we looking for?
AWS Glue Experience: Hands-on experience with AWS Glue: transitioning and creating ETL processes for multi-relational databases
Excel: Possess advanced skills in Excel, including the use of functions, statements, and vlookup, enabling effective data manipulation and analysis.
SQL: Ability to write SQL statements is preferred, as it facilitates data extraction, transformation, and loading operations, as well as remedies and updates.
Python / Scala: Sufficient capability with related programming languages: Python and/ or Scala to develop custom ETL scripts for AWS Glue where the visual tools won’t suffice.
Data Acumen: Demonstrate a solid acumen for data and database systems, applying knowledge to effectively work with data in various contexts.
Attention to detail: Exhibit strong attention to detail, carefully evaluating data for accuracy and detecting any errors or anomalies.
Customer Focus: Be customer centric and have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with customers through email, virtual meetings and phone calls
Collaborative Approach: Possess a collaborative mindset, actively engaging with team members to troubleshoot, update, and ensure process continuity, as well as identify and discuss opportunities for improvement
